What is the Parents Organization?
The Parents Organization (PO) at FMA is intended to give parents and legal guardians the opportunity to become a part of the school community. As long as your child is enrolled at FMA, you are a member. The PO's main interest is to enrich the lives of our FMA students. Being involved in the PO deepens the experience of the children in their own education; it sets an example and tone of involvement. The children benefit by seeing their parents "caring through action". The staff at FMA benefits from the extra support given by the parents. As parents we have a unique opportunity to become deeply involved in our child(ren)'s education. The result is what makes FMA such a remarkable place! That's right - it's because of YOU -a community of parents who show extraordinary care and concern for this school.
Are there any membership fees?
There are no membership fees associated with our group, just many benefits we hope you will enjoy throughout the school year.
What is our mission?
Our mission, to promote the general welfare of FMA students, is accomplished in three major ways by:
- Supporting FMA's staff
- Building a community among FMA staff, students and families
- Fostering an understanding of the Montessori philosophy.
What do we do?
There is a lot of work involved, but we think it is worth it. Below illustrates some of our efforts in each of these categories.
